Top 5 Countries by Semiconductor Production

1. Taiwan (TSMC), Taiwan Semiconductor Manuyfacturing Company account for 50% of the world's semiconductor production. They produce for Apple, AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, and many more. This is known as the foundry model for electronics manufacturing.
2. South Korea (Samsung) both IMD(Integrated Devices Manufacturer, i.e. for themselve) and foundry. SK has 70+ fabrication plants, accounting for 15% world production.
3. Japan
4. United States - 12% of world production. However, US-based companies own about 46% of the world's semiconductor market. They produce in other countries.
